Hercules was the son of a Greek God Zeus. He was born a fat and very strong baby. one day when he was in his cot he killed two snakes. when he was five he took music lessons and before he finished his music lessons he killed his music teacher. when he grew up he tried to kill a serpent who heads once you cut off one head it would grow back. Then he fought a lion. one day Hercules got really drunk and killed his wife and children. that is about all I read of the story. after reading that much i still think the story is really interesting.

My Name TOM
Names. I always wondered why I got my name but I have never known until this week. I found out that Greek form of Tom is an Aramaic name תָּאוֹמָא (Ta'oma') which means "twin" and that my name is also from a saints name. He was Saint Thomas Becket who was a 12 century archbishop. I think my name is cool because my full name is Thomas Oliver Milton so then my initials are TOM also my brothers initials are SAM because he is Samuel Alexander Milton. When I was little I wanted to change my name to Barney because I loved Barney so much. I have been teased for my first name because it is like Thomas the Tank Engine. Although my name is Thomas, normaly people call me just Tom. I think my parents gave me the name Tom for its iniatals and thats what I know about my name.

Saving the world
I think that earth hour is a good idea. but i personally think that we should go for a whole day with out lights. one hour does not make a difference. we could make a difference by using less electricity during the day we should open the blinds or curtains and open windows for air. like for the buses the they waste so much electricity because they leave there engines on all the time they are waiting to pick us up. They should keep their engines off intill it is just about time to leave. that i how it think we can change.

Malaysia Week March 2009
In middle school we all have the opportunity to go on
I was chosen to go on the most most challenging rainforest site. This was called Ulu Pearak and was a rafting adventure. Ulu Pearak is up on the Malaysian side of the border with Thailand we took a bus trip for 6 hours, then started a six hour hike which only took our group 3 hours and 45 minutes, it was hard but fun.
Our site was extreme we had to pack as little as we could into a small cloth backpack with uncomfortable rope straps. Everything had to be packed into zip lock bags before going in the backpack. It was hard to decide what to take and what to leave out.
For five days we were rafting for three to six hours everyday. We were in a dingy in teams of four with two guides. The rapids were level two to four and wild, it was wet and very tiring. In some places the water was two rough and we had to carry our packs and paddles and walk through the jungle to a safer bit of jungle.
Malaysia Week was the most tiring but the most times of my life so far I can not wait for next year to see what a coastal site will be like. The main word to describe the trip is
WOW.
